A dictatorship is a government where one person makes all the rules and decisions without input from anyone else. This is also known as having TOTAL power.dictators comes to power by a result in a weak government, they are normally backed up by powerful groups (landowners, private company owners, bank owners). They may also employ techniques like propaganda so they can sustain their public support. The most known dictator is Adolf Hitler.
A dictatorship is similar to Totalitarianism, authoritarianism, and Despotism. It relates to all of these things because they all are a non-democratic. Authoritarianism means that one group or person has all the power. Despotism means that the leader (or leaders) runs the country. Last but not least Totalitarianism is a system where the government has total control!
Life in a dictatorship is the worst thing ever!! i mean, unless you're the dictator because you get absolute power. If you live in a dictatorship you technically have NO/ LIMITED RIGHTS! This is much different from the U.S where you get to vote and have freedom of speech. If you try to do any of those things during a time of a dictatorship, lets just say it will be pretty bad.
The ruler can chose who will be and where you would work. They can also govern what religion you may belong to and what schools you will attend. It can even dictate how many children you may have. I know you're thinking who can control that? Well i can tell you who does, The Chinese Government! The Chinese Government is probably one of the strictest dictatorship.
